Red Leaf Dress

Since it is a whopping 90 degrees in Los Angeles (meanwhile other parts of the country are prepping for Fall), I still have a few summer dresses to show you all. I just have to say, it has been SO HOT! I keep wishing for that crisp fall air, the kind that makes you understand the season is actually changing – it probably won’t be coming to California until October. I guess I can’t complain, you can’t have it all and at least we don’t have to shovel snow.

On another note, how gorgeous is this dress?! This is another deal finder of mine coming to you from SheIn. If you haven’t checked out this website, take a peek. They have daily new arrivals. I will admit the clothing (especially at that price) is not the longest lasting quality you’ll own. However, their clothing offerings are designed to give you that “on-trend” look for less. This is the site where you can have fun with it and purchase a few items that will fall under $100, then next season you can do the same without breaking the bank. One caution though, the sizing runs just a tad bit small, so below are a few suggestions:

1. I am wearing a medium, however I probably could have sized up to a large
2. Always check their listed measurements, they are in centimeters but you can convert to inches if needed
3. Most items come small not in a width type of way, but in length. I try to look at the length measurements and consider whether the item will work or not. Generally anything in the 87cm+ length works for me and I am only 5ft 3inches.
4. It takes about a month for most things to arrive, so plan accordingly and order early.

Here is the BEST part though…

The dress was under $20. Yep! You can get it HERE

Hope you all have a great Tuesday! What is everyone doing this weekend? I will be headed to Big Bear Lake and I can’t wait! Follow along on Instagram!

Shout out to my photographer (blogger friend) for these pics, Melanie from Something Dashing!

Dermstore BeautyFIX

Hi there!

I am so excited to share the Dermstore BeautyFIX box for September with you all! I’m typically not one to experiment when it comes to new skincare or make-up routines so this nifty box came happily accepted by me. Dermstore is an online beauty destination where you can find professional-strength skincare and beauty items which are hand selected by experts in their field. Instead of purchasing a full size product and then debating whether or not it works for you, you can opt to participate in their BeautyFIX box and receive a great sample of products on a monthly basis. You receive $100+ worth of beauty products starting at only $12.48 per month! As you can see below, some of the items were a full sample size and should last you at least a few months!

I received 12 items in total, and I couldn’t wait to try them all! Below is a full list of products from left to right:

1. L’Occitane Shea Butter Soap
2. Raw Spirit ‘Summer Rain’ Parfum
3. Jane Iredale lip and cheek stain
4. SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF
5. Skinmedica TNS eye repair
6. Skinmedica Vitamin Complex
7. Nick Chavez ‘Starlet Shine Spray’
8. Dr. Brandt BB Cream
9. Sanitas Lemon Cream Scrub
10. NIA 24 Sun Damage prevention UVA/UVB
11. Avene Retrinal 0.1 intensive cream
12. Medicell Eye Mask Duo

I tested ALL of them and picked a few of my favorites for you! The most amazing product in this box was the Sanitas Lemon Cream Scrub, it is a face scrub and you use it up to a few times per week, but it leaves your skin baby soft! It is absolutely amazing and saved my skin from that “dull, blotchy” look. It smells refreshing and I would absolutely recommend if you are looking for a new scrub.

My second favorite was the Medicell Eye Mask Duo, the eye mask comes as a cooling gel and also feels SO refreshing! I used it one night after a long work week and looked refreshed within 15 minutes. This item is available exclusively at Dermstore and is a winner.

The third favorite is the BB Cream by Dr. Brandt. I typically like to use BB Cream on the weekends when I’m not wearing a full face of make-up. This particular BB cream adjusts to your skin color naturally, smells great, and has an SPF 30 built in. Also, did you see the size of that sample?! Pretty generous!

Last but not least (because I couldn’t just pick 3 favorites), I also loved the NIA 24 Sunscreen cream. It smells amazing and is not heavy or oily! Plus, who doesn’t love an SPF30 in the year-round California sunshine. Trust me, if you only remember ONE SINGLE beauty and skincare rule then remember this:

ALWAYS WEAR SUNSCREEN! We all love the sun, but we also know it does significant damage to the skin. If you want beautiful skin tone and texture, protect it from the rays. 🙂 -I’m done preaching now I promise.

Below is a direct link to my favorites, if you have tried any of them leave some feedback in the comments section!

Great jeans get better with time

It’s Friday! Wohoo! Hope your short week went by with a breeze. I am currently writing from Boise, Idaho of all places. I had to take a quick work trip this week (first time in Idaho) and my weekend officially starts at 6:30pm on Friday when I arrive back at LAX. Definitely can’t wait! I have a dinner party to attend and some great blog outfits to create for you all! Meanwhile ~B~ is excited about football – the almighty American thing to look forward to in fall (other than that pumpkin spice latte addiction everyone seems to have).

As we sort of move into fall, and I say sort of because it is still smokin’ hot in California, I wanted to feature my “go-to” fall favorite – An amazing pair of jeans! They too are the ultimate American staple! I decided to pull out a pair that I have had FOREVER, not kidding I bought these either my Senior year of high school or my Freshman year of college. Now, we won’t go back and count how many years that is exactly, but let’s just say they have been broken into ultimate comfort and I absolutely love them! First of all, 7 For All Mankind is brilliant at what they do to begin with; if you have not had a pair of their jeans you should buy some for the fall season. A quality pair of jeans truly goes a long way, so long that I wore the living life out of these and still would not give them up (I had a small hole and patched it). They are currently fitting a little tighter than how they used to fit in college (oops, working on that), but they still never disappoint.

The crop sweater was a great pairing and a LOFT find which is currently on sale! The hat is from Forever21 and a great accessory to add to any outfit.

Do you have a favorite pair of jeans or brand of jeans that you absolutely LOVE? I am always up for adding to my jean collection so definitely leave a comment!

Venice Canals in a Green Dress

Happy Friday blog friends! Who is ready for that 3-day weekend? –> THIS GIRL is for sure! I have been on the road for work for over a month now, constantly traveling to all of the West Coast states. While I absolutely love my job, I want to do nothing but enjoy my apartment (and maybe a little bit of LA) during these next few days. Of course I will have to throw in a little bit of Labor Day shopping (can’t miss those sales)!

I recently had a Golden Birthday and turned 26 on August 26th, pics of my birthday outfit will be on the blog soon! I went to Gjelina with my boyfriend, B, which was so delicious! If you are a local Angeleno it is a must, and if you plan on visiting put it on your list ASAP. A few days after I met with my amazing friend, and blogger babe Melanie from Something Dashing. We took these great photos above (Thanks for the shots, Mel) and then had dinner at The Tasting Kitchen, which was also amazing! Gotta love LA for all of its tasty food options, and gotta love and appreciate great friends because they are a hard find in this big city.

As for the outfit, I bought this cute number at an amazing price from SheIn. Under $20 is always good in my book! This look can also be worn with booties and a leather jacket for a cooler Fall transition. Pictured I have it worn with my Rebecca Minkoff bag, but I snagged Mel’s Valentino clutch for a few photos (Total wish list item). Both bags work well, one is more casual while the other is dressy.

Enjoy your Labor Day Weekend!! If you know of any fun happenings around LA this weekend, leave a comment! 🙂
