Because I match this wall…

Hi there!

I know some of you are probably thinking “why is she posting a maxi in October!?” Well, it’s because California STILL hasn’t realized its October and because this wall is worth posting! This is my last summer look though, I promise! I wore this maxi a few weeks ago to a BBQ. It was a Nordstrom Sale purchase, but I found one more color offering for you available. Yea, I know, you’re probably looking for that perfect maxi for Fall – haha. Hey, some of us might be shopping for spring/summer waaay early.

If you’re curious about this wall, it is cool for pictures and can be found in Venice on one of the side streets in Abbot Kinney.

Now that we are all summer’ed out, I will have a post about my trip to Big Bear coming soon, as well as a cute outfit post perfect for the office. Stay tuned!

Red Leaf Dress

Since it is a whopping 90 degrees in Los Angeles (meanwhile other parts of the country are prepping for Fall), I still have a few summer dresses to show you all. I just have to say, it has been SO HOT! I keep wishing for that crisp fall air, the kind that makes you understand the season is actually changing – it probably won’t be coming to California until October. I guess I can’t complain, you can’t have it all and at least we don’t have to shovel snow.

On another note, how gorgeous is this dress?! This is another deal finder of mine coming to you from SheIn. If you haven’t checked out this website, take a peek. They have daily new arrivals. I will admit the clothing (especially at that price) is not the longest lasting quality you’ll own. However, their clothing offerings are designed to give you that “on-trend” look for less. This is the site where you can have fun with it and purchase a few items that will fall under $100, then next season you can do the same without breaking the bank. One caution though, the sizing runs just a tad bit small, so below are a few suggestions:

1. I am wearing a medium, however I probably could have sized up to a large
2. Always check their listed measurements, they are in centimeters but you can convert to inches if needed
3. Most items come small not in a width type of way, but in length. I try to look at the length measurements and consider whether the item will work or not. Generally anything in the 87cm+ length works for me and I am only 5ft 3inches.
4. It takes about a month for most things to arrive, so plan accordingly and order early.

Here is the BEST part though…

The dress was under $20. Yep! You can get it HERE

Hope you all have a great Tuesday! What is everyone doing this weekend? I will be headed to Big Bear Lake and I can’t wait! Follow along on Instagram!

Shout out to my photographer (blogger friend) for these pics, Melanie from Something Dashing!

Dermstore BeautyFIX

Hi there!

I am so excited to share the Dermstore BeautyFIX box for September with you all! I’m typically not one to experiment when it comes to new skincare or make-up routines so this nifty box came happily accepted by me. Dermstore is an online beauty destination where you can find professional-strength skincare and beauty items which are hand selected by experts in their field. Instead of purchasing a full size product and then debating whether or not it works for you, you can opt to participate in their BeautyFIX box and receive a great sample of products on a monthly basis. You receive $100+ worth of beauty products starting at only $12.48 per month! As you can see below, some of the items were a full sample size and should last you at least a few months!

I received 12 items in total, and I couldn’t wait to try them all! Below is a full list of products from left to right:

1. L’Occitane Shea Butter Soap
2. Raw Spirit ‘Summer Rain’ Parfum
3. Jane Iredale lip and cheek stain
4. SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF
5. Skinmedica TNS eye repair
6. Skinmedica Vitamin Complex
7. Nick Chavez ‘Starlet Shine Spray’
8. Dr. Brandt BB Cream
9. Sanitas Lemon Cream Scrub
10. NIA 24 Sun Damage prevention UVA/UVB
11. Avene Retrinal 0.1 intensive cream
12. Medicell Eye Mask Duo

I tested ALL of them and picked a few of my favorites for you! The most amazing product in this box was the Sanitas Lemon Cream Scrub, it is a face scrub and you use it up to a few times per week, but it leaves your skin baby soft! It is absolutely amazing and saved my skin from that “dull, blotchy” look. It smells refreshing and I would absolutely recommend if you are looking for a new scrub.

My second favorite was the Medicell Eye Mask Duo, the eye mask comes as a cooling gel and also feels SO refreshing! I used it one night after a long work week and looked refreshed within 15 minutes. This item is available exclusively at Dermstore and is a winner.

The third favorite is the BB Cream by Dr. Brandt. I typically like to use BB Cream on the weekends when I’m not wearing a full face of make-up. This particular BB cream adjusts to your skin color naturally, smells great, and has an SPF 30 built in. Also, did you see the size of that sample?! Pretty generous!

Last but not least (because I couldn’t just pick 3 favorites), I also loved the NIA 24 Sunscreen cream. It smells amazing and is not heavy or oily! Plus, who doesn’t love an SPF30 in the year-round California sunshine. Trust me, if you only remember ONE SINGLE beauty and skincare rule then remember this:

ALWAYS WEAR SUNSCREEN! We all love the sun, but we also know it does significant damage to the skin. If you want beautiful skin tone and texture, protect it from the rays. 🙂 -I’m done preaching now I promise.

Below is a direct link to my favorites, if you have tried any of them leave some feedback in the comments section!

Great jeans get better with time

It’s Friday! Wohoo! Hope your short week went by with a breeze. I am currently writing from Boise, Idaho of all places. I had to take a quick work trip this week (first time in Idaho) and my weekend officially starts at 6:30pm on Friday when I arrive back at LAX. Definitely can’t wait! I have a dinner party to attend and some great blog outfits to create for you all! Meanwhile ~B~ is excited about football – the almighty American thing to look forward to in fall (other than that pumpkin spice latte addiction everyone seems to have).

As we sort of move into fall, and I say sort of because it is still smokin’ hot in California, I wanted to feature my “go-to” fall favorite – An amazing pair of jeans! They too are the ultimate American staple! I decided to pull out a pair that I have had FOREVER, not kidding I bought these either my Senior year of high school or my Freshman year of college. Now, we won’t go back and count how many years that is exactly, but let’s just say they have been broken into ultimate comfort and I absolutely love them! First of all, 7 For All Mankind is brilliant at what they do to begin with; if you have not had a pair of their jeans you should buy some for the fall season. A quality pair of jeans truly goes a long way, so long that I wore the living life out of these and still would not give them up (I had a small hole and patched it). They are currently fitting a little tighter than how they used to fit in college (oops, working on that), but they still never disappoint.

The crop sweater was a great pairing and a LOFT find which is currently on sale! The hat is from Forever21 and a great accessory to add to any outfit.

Do you have a favorite pair of jeans or brand of jeans that you absolutely LOVE? I am always up for adding to my jean collection so definitely leave a comment!

Venice Canals in a Green Dress

Happy Friday blog friends! Who is ready for that 3-day weekend? –> THIS GIRL is for sure! I have been on the road for work for over a month now, constantly traveling to all of the West Coast states. While I absolutely love my job, I want to do nothing but enjoy my apartment (and maybe a little bit of LA) during these next few days. Of course I will have to throw in a little bit of Labor Day shopping (can’t miss those sales)!

I recently had a Golden Birthday and turned 26 on August 26th, pics of my birthday outfit will be on the blog soon! I went to Gjelina with my boyfriend, B, which was so delicious! If you are a local Angeleno it is a must, and if you plan on visiting put it on your list ASAP. A few days after I met with my amazing friend, and blogger babe Melanie from Something Dashing. We took these great photos above (Thanks for the shots, Mel) and then had dinner at The Tasting Kitchen, which was also amazing! Gotta love LA for all of its tasty food options, and gotta love and appreciate great friends because they are a hard find in this big city.

As for the outfit, I bought this cute number at an amazing price from SheIn. Under $20 is always good in my book! This look can also be worn with booties and a leather jacket for a cooler Fall transition. Pictured I have it worn with my Rebecca Minkoff bag, but I snagged Mel’s Valentino clutch for a few photos (Total wish list item). Both bags work well, one is more casual while the other is dressy.

Enjoy your Labor Day Weekend!! If you know of any fun happenings around LA this weekend, leave a comment! 🙂

Romper x Fergie Shoes

Do you guys love these shoes or what? I think they are the perfect summer to fall transition, especially for LA where temperatures never really get too cold. The fact that it is a wedge makes it all the better, they are SO comfortable.

I originally wanted to dress these up with a pair of cargo pants, but I came across a great sale and found this romper at Anthropologie. I loved the color and decided it was perfect for the remaining few hot weeks of summer!

How are you all spending the last few weeks of summer? -I’ll be headed back home to Saint Louis later this week to spend time with family, and more importantly, meet my best friends new baby boy. Cant wait!

Have a great week!

Olive green for Fall

It has been quite a busy last few weeks of summer! Although all things are good, I feel busy as ever and completely ready for fall (maybe the LA traffic will subside just a tad bit by that point?). Cooler temperatures are also on the horizon, yess!

If you’ve noticed lately, Olive Green (or really any type of dark green) has been all over runway shows and magazines. I truly believe it will be the big color scheme for fall – and I am completely falling for IT. 🙂

So, when I saw this tank from TOPSHOP, I immediately had to purchase it! I recently wore it to a trend show event at Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills as a +1 with my good friend and fellow blogger Melanie of Something Dashing. We had a ton of fun shooting a few pics together, sipping on Champagne, and watching as the show unfolded.

Guess what the take-away from the show was? Olive green is your color of Fall ladies, also noticed a ton of fur, suede, and fringe.

Below are a few photos of my outfit, I went for a basic look with subtle gold jewelry.

Few things to note:

I am wearing a size 6 in this shirt, but I think going one size up might have been a better fit. I love the fact that this shirt is longer in the back and shorter in front – even though I kept having the urge to slightly tuck it in at front (I think this was due to the size). Either way, I am excited to add more colors to my closet!!

Also, I have had this amazing brown tote bag from Banana Republic FOREVER. It has endured endless work trips, and fits practically everything inside of it. All that for an amazing price! I am now on a journey to find my next tote bag, sadly this guy needs to see his retirement days. It has by far been the best money I have spent on a tote bag! Amazing deal!

Hope you enjoyed reading!

The Rocksbox way

I am SO excited to share one of my favorite subscriptions with you all! If you’re anything like me, you shop for clothes all day long (and shoes), but never quite get around to buying a ton of jewelry. Don’t get me wrong, I love jewelry (I work in the industry so I better) but for some reason I tend to navigate to spending my money on clothes first, shoes second, and accessories last. If my budget was endless maybe I could squeeze in more jewelry. 🙂 Sadly it’s not, but this is exactly why Rocksbox is amazing and if you haven’t heard about it you’re truly missing out!

It is a subscription service which delivers ‘on trend’ jewelry straight to your door, you wear the pieces for as long as you wish and simply send them back when you are finished for a brand new shipment – All this at an affordable monthly price. You’re not just getting any jewelry though, they have some superb designers such as Kendra Scott, House of Harlow, CC Skye and Gorjana just to name a few of my favorites. Above is a photo of my first box set and they hit the nail on the head with the pieces they chose for me; I am more subtle with my jewelry so they sent me a delicate ring and necklace. I also like statement earrings, and the ones they shipped are awesome (I plan to wear them to a wedding this upcoming weekend).

The process is simple, you sign up on their website, take a brief survey about your style preferences, and a box arrives in your mailbox within 3-5 days of confirming. Voila!

Now that you’ve read a whole long blog post about my Rocksbox excitement, there is a little something in it for you! If you use my CODE below you will receive your first month completely FREE! Give it a whirl and see how you like it!

Happy Friday! I decided to start a Friday post to give you some buzz on deals that I’ve found and/or sales that are happening through the weekend.

The shoe on the right (which also comes in Ivory, click link to pick your color) is your Steal ShoeMint Miller $49.99

Crop Top and Skirt Set

Hope everyone is having a great week! I am in LOVE with this crop top and skirt set, it’s such a “no-brainer” to go for a set when you want to look put together and make your outfit choice easy. I found the piece above at Forever 21, funny story behind that…I literally searched at least 5 different Forever 21 stores in order to find my size! Yes – I was that crazy over this because I had the perfect occasion to wear it to, a baby shower for my best friend who is expecting (you guessed it) a baby boy. The blue was perfect and the outfit is an easy day-time piece. Luckily I didn’t deliberately drive all over town to find my size; I travel quite a ton for work so I like to check out the local stores in the evening. I finally found my size at a Forever 21 in Modesto, California!

Unfortunately the Forever 21 website currently only has the crop top in stock, it looks like they might replenish the skirt though. You can find the crop top here and place yourself on the wait list for the skirt here. The great thing about Forever 21 is that their prices are AMAZING! The not so great part is that all items sell out very quickly, so if you see it you better grab it. I like to purchase trendy and seasonal items at Forever 21 because of the great price. Always remember, spend a considerable amount on good quality staples and look for deals on items that are seasonal.

If you haven’t noticed by now, I have a serious love for finding deals. Any time I find something at a great price it’s like I’ve just won my own little lottery. With this blog I hope to give you all more tips and deals/steals as I get better at this whole “blogging business”. Thus far, I hope you are enjoying my outfit posts!

To make up for the lack of stock in this Forever 21 skirt, I have compiled a few great sets for you below (click on image to see details).

Also, a fun website I discovered for price-point fashion items is CHICWISH. They have two great sets I am LOVING as well:

1. Retro Rose Crop top and Skirt

2. Check Chic Crop top and Skirt
